My teaching brings research on language learning and bilingualism into the classroom through questions that students can connect to their own experiences. I create a supportive environment where they can take intellectual and linguistic risks, debate ideas, and question assumptions. Students learn to formulate research questions and develop the tools to investigate them, from evaluating sources and analyzing language data to weighing competing explanations. Throughout this process, I encourage them to think independently, support their arguments with evidence, and revise their views when new findings challenge their understanding. My goal is to help students become confident language users and critical thinkers who can ask meaningful questions and pursue informed answers.
